Please donate to the Friday Rally Legal Defense Fund!
Jump to Video news reports of the Friday Rally & March, January 2008, and the efforts to quiet down Portland's "Living Room" for General Electric.
On December 21, 2007, for the first time since we began the weekly Friday 5:00PM rallies at Pioneer Courthouse Square, the City of Portland Noise Control Officer informed us that if we did what we've been doing each week since November 2001, we would be issued a citation. For what offense has Pioneer Courthouse Square, Inc., summoned the City's Noise Control Officer? Using a battery powered megaphone, a part of our weekly actions for more than half of this decade. The citation has a maximum fine of $5,000. We have made contacts with the civil rights legal community for support and advice, but we depend most on the broader community's solidarity. Please join us on Friday at 5:00PM, this Friday or the next, and please consider donating to our legal defense fund!
You can send us a check, made out to "PPRC" or "Portland Peaceful Reponse Coalition" (please put "Friday Rally Defense Fund" in the memo line) and send it to PO Box 5112, Portland, OR 97208-5112, or you can make a donation via PayPal (just click on the PayPal icon below).
We'll be posting more information soon, along with updates.
Please join us Friday, and please donate today!
